About
American tenor Andrew Owens has earned a reputation as one of the most talented singers of his generation due to his beautiful Italian timbre, high notes and light manner of performance.
Owens graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Santa Barbara Academy of Western Music, and the Maryland Opera Studio. He was a trainee artist at the Colorado Central City Opera, a member of the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, and a participant in the Young Singers project at the Salzburg Festival. Takes master classes from leading masters.
From 2012 to 2014, he sang in the Youth Ensemble of the Vienna Theater, including leading roles at the Vienna Chamber Opera. In 2012, he performed Edoardo in Rossini's Marriage of Convenience and Rudolfo in an abridged version of Puccini's La Boheme.
In 2014-2015 he made his debut in the United States: "Cinderella" at Saratoga and Greensboro Opera," Genius " by Mozart in Dublin. In Vienna, he sang in La Boheme, The Magic Flute, Semiramis, and Fidelio. At the Bavarian Opera — "Tales of Hoffmann".
Performances include Schumann's Faust with the Cleveland Orchestra, Haydn's The Seasons, Rossignol at the Salzburg Festival, and songs at the New York Festival.
In 2015-2016, he made his debut in The Barber of Seville and Maria Stewart. He has performed at the Dayton Opera and the Caramoor Festival. He performed the Ninth Symphony with the Bamberg Orchestra.
In 2016-2017, he will return to the Virginia Opera, perform at the San Antonio Opera and Concertgebouw. She also sings at Peer Gynt in Vienna, making her debut with the Arizona Opera and the Local Opera House.
Owens has been heard performing tenor solos by Bach, Schumann, and Puccini, as well as in Haydn's Furious Death. He has performed at the Rossini Gala at the Munich Opera Festival and concerts by Bertrand de Billy, Nikolaus Arnoncourt and Franz Welser Places.
