Born in 1991, violinist Yuna Ha began her musical studies at the age of 4, influenced by her mother who was an amateur violinist. After graduating from Yewon School and Seoul Arts High School for highly gifted young music students in Korea, she attended Seoul National University with full scholarship graduating with the highest ranking under the tutelage of Prof. Kyung Sun Lee. Then she moved to Paris and completed her master's degree at the National Conservatory of Music in Paris. Yuna continues her artistic diploma in CNSM de Paris and at the same time in Hochschule für Musik Weimar, with great teachers such as Svetlin Roussev, Olivier Charlier and Friedemann Eichhorn.
Since a young age, Yuna has won numerous competitions for young musical prodigies. In 2010, she was spotted for being the winner of the Dong-a Music Competition, which is one of the biggest competitions in Korea. She made her debut on the international stage with the first prize at the Novosibirsk International Violin Competition, organized by Zakar Bron, one of the greatest violin educators. She also won the 1st prize at the Mirecourt International Violin Competition, with two special jury prizes. She has been invited as an artist in many music festivals such as artist of the festival of young artists, artist of Virtuosi group, international music festival of Daejeon, Vivace festival, series of concerts of young artists Kumho, Spirit of SNU Strings, Seoul International Music Festival, and Studio 2021-contemporary music. She has also played with many orchestras as a soloist.
Yuna has worked with many legendary artists such as Ray Chen, William Sutre, Robert Chen, Pavel Vernikov, Yuzuko Horigome, Zakar Bron, Maxim Vengerov, Jamie Laredo, Ik Hwan Bae, Mikyung Lee. Yuna is also a member of the Esmé Quartet (founded in 2016), composed of four Korean female musicians. Since 2017, she has been studying with her colleagues at the Lübeck Conservatory in Germany with Heime Müller. This quartet has recently won the first prize at the prestigious London Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition 2018.
