Moni, Burgi and Bärbi stand for the female synthesis of folk music and cabaret in Bavaria. For 30 years you have been touring Germany, Austria and Switzerland as “poachers” in traditional Bavarian folk music.
The Wellküren come from the 17-strong folk musician family Well from Günzlhofen, a small community between Munich and Augsburg, just like the Wellbrüder from Biermoos (formerly Biermösl Blosn). As children, they performed in the family circle at folk musicians' meetings and club celebrations in the surrounding villages. From their father, who was the school teacher and choir director of the village, they learned the traditional three-song chant and numerous musical instruments.
In the mid-80s they made themselves “self-employed” with folk music cabaret. Today you will be guest at all the renowned cabaret and cabaret stages between Vienna and Hamburg. All three of them are housewives, mothers and grandmothers.
In 2004, sister Vroni said goodbye to the stage after 18 years of well-being. In a casting within the family, Bärbi was able to prevail and took over first voice, harp and tuba.
