About
The Verbier Festival Orchestra (VFO) is a rite of passage for today's exceptional young musicians. Since its founding in 2000, the VFO has brought together promising talents and the greatest conductors and soloists of our time, becoming renowned as one of the best training orchestras on the planet.
The VFO includes 95 musicians aged 18 to 28 benefiting from intensive supervision by musicians from the best ensembles. These mentors prepare musicians for three weeks of rehearsals and concerts led by some of the world's most renowned conductors. Former members of the orchestra have since joined the most prestigious ensembles in the world, such as the Berlin, Israel, New York and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Tonhalle Orchester Zürich.
