Tracy Cox, a Dallas native, has been hailed by the Washington Post as an “impressive” soprano, LA Weekly has written of her as a “force of nature”, and Arts in LA described her voice as, “opulent, dramatic, and expressive, with a golden sheen that is nothing short of breathtaking”.

An alumna of Los Angeles Opera’s Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program, she made her professional debut with the company in the role of Marcellina in Le Nozze di Figaro, under the baton of Placido Domingo. While in residence she also sang the roles of Female Chorus in Benjamin Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, Pisana in Verdi’s I Due Foscari, and Second Lady in Krenek’s Das geheime Königreich. The last three years have seen her debuts with the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Pasadena Symphony as the soprano soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, and the Cincinnati Symphony as the Soprano II soloist in Mahler’s 8th “Symphony of A Thousand”, as well as the title role in Debussy’s La damoiselle élue. She sang the role of Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff with Wolf Trap Opera in 2013, followed by “Sa Femme” in Milhaud’s Le Pauvre Matelot, and recently sang the title role in Verdi’s Aida with Opera San Louis Obispo. In June 2012, she made her International concert debut at the Vishnevskaya Opera Center in Moscow, and has since performed throughout Hungary with both the Philharmonic Orchestra of Györ as well as Budapest’s famed MÁV Symphony Orchestra. She sang the title role of Ariadne auf Naxos to much acclaim in 2015 with the darling of the Indie Opera scene, Pacific Opera Project. She was seen in solo recital in 2015 in Arlington, Virginia with Kim Witman, as part of the Ravinia-Steans Institute in Chicago, and as a featured performer at the Barachois Music Festival in New Brunswick, Canada.

Tracy has been an honored recipient of a number of the most prestigious National and International prizes, including a Sullivan Grant in November 2015, the George London-Kirsten Flagstad Prize in February 2014, and the Birgit Nilsson Prize at the 2013 Operalia Competition in Verona. She was an International Finalist in the first inaugural Elizabeth Connell Prize for Dramatic Sopranos held in Sydney, Australia, placed 2nd in Fort Worth Opera’s 2014 McCammon Competition, and was a Grand National Finalist in the 2013 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Ms.Cox is an acclaimed artist of many mediums, including line drawing and graphic design, large scale paintings, and poetry and spoken word performance. She created the Tumblr Comic "Show Pony" in 2011, which documents the ups and downs of life as an opera singer in the 21st century.

Ms. Cox founded her jewelry line, Neon Beautiful Design, in 2016, and her whimsical fringe earrings adorn the ears of opera singers, performers, and influencers the world over. The company motto is to "Be loud, wear neon, and take up space", and aims to empower women via visibility and self love, as well as to create sustainable fashion through the "up-cycling" and modification of vintage jewelry.
