Double bass player Tobias Nijboer is a versatile sideman in the Dutch music scene. After his Bachelor studies in Groningen (PPC) and Barcelona (ESMUC) he lived for two years in New York where he obtained his Masters at SUNY Purchase in 2010. Since then he has been based in Amsterdam and plays in various groups including FUSE, Daan Kleijn Trio, Henk Kraaijeveld, Vincent Veneman 10, Bas van Lier Trio and the Dutch Concert Big Band.
As a sideman, Tobias has recorded 16 CDs for the past 10 years, played tours in North America and Europe and has given performances in the Netherlands at, among others, North Sea Jazz, in the Concertgebouw and the Bimhuis. With FUSE he is regularly in the TV program Podium Witteman, where they are the house band. He also shared the stage with Cyrille Aimée, Peter Bernstein, John Engels, Ruud Jacobs, Benjamin Herman, Jasper Blom and Joost van Schaik.
