About

Titia van Heyst is a versatile soprano and also in great demand as a soloist.

She regularly performs major oratory works such as St. Matthew's, St. John's Passion, Weihnachts Oratory by Bach, Messiah by Haendel, Ein Deutsches Requiem by Brahms, Mozart's Exsultate Jubilate and Kroenungsmesse, Psalm 42 by Mendelssohn and Gloria by Poulenc and Orffs Carmina Burana.

In addition to the concert halls and large churches in the Netherlands, Titia also performs abroad as a soloist.

She toured through Denmark, Sweden and France with the Johannes Passion by Bach.

She has worked as a soloist on various CD recordings, including the CD 'Krönungsmesse' from the Kathedrale Koor St. Bavo in collaboration with the Promenade Orchestra.

In addition to being a soloist, Titia is a passionate ensemble singer.

She sings as a freelancer at Cappella Amsterdam and is regularly invited by (foreign) ensemles. She has performed with ensembles through South Africa, the United States, Venezuela and many countries in Europe.

Titia forms a song duo with pianist Lineke Lever. Lied Duo Van Heyst-Lever performs with repertoire from 19th and 20th century music, performed in concert halls, churches and small theaters. Lied duo Van Heyst - Lever has been selected for the prestigious Udo Reineman international master class 2015-2016.

Titia obtained her master's degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague in May 2007. During her master's studies she specialized in French and German song art. Titia studied with Sasja Hunnego and also took classes and masterclasses with Valérie Guillorit, Jard van Nes, Meinard Kraak, Dame Melvina Major, Elly Ameling and Erna Spoorenberg. She is now being coached by soprano Hanneke de Wit.

Her musical education began at the Kathedrale Koorschool in Utrecht. Because of her qualities as a young (12-year-old!) Soprano, she was asked as a solo dairy Peaseblossom in Benjamin Britain's opera A Midsummer Nights Dream, a production of Dutch National Opera. A unique experience that has partly determined her choice for a singing study.
