About
The countertenor comes from Vienna and studied at the music university of his hometown.
Engagements led him u. a. to the Teatro San Carlo in Lisbon, the Zurich Opera House and the National Theater Mannheim. His repertoire ranges from the Baroque to the Modern. His most important roles include Bradamante in Handel's Alcina, Amor and Valetto in Monteverdi's L'incoronazione di Poppea, Ernesto in Haydn's The World on the Moon and Tisbe in La Cenerentola.
In recent years Thomas Lichtenecker u. a. at the summer festival in Jennersdorf the Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro and the Orlofsky in The Bat. At the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin he performed u. a. as Miles in Britten's The Turn of the Screw (Conductor: Ivor Bolton, Director: Claus Guth).
His light opera debut was given by Thomas Lichtenecker in the role of the castrato singer Caffarelli in the premiere of Vivaldi - The Fifth Season.
