About

At only 23, Theo Sarazin will join the prestigious orchestra of the Paris Opera on Thursday, August 30, as bassoon solo. The maestro of competitions is a former student of the conservatory of Caen, where he began at 6 years with Marianne Montac, wife of Jean-Claude Montac, artistic director of the Music Academy of the Côte de Nacre. "I worked the bassoon for five to six years with Marianne. Jean-Claude then prepared me for the entrance examination of the National Conservatory of Music (CNSM) in Paris ", says Théo Sarazin.

In 2013, he obtained his baccalaureate at Lycée Malherbe in Caen, and won the entrance examination at the CNSM in Paris. He began a three-year music license. Then, at 20, Theo Sarazin wins an international competition, reserved for under 21 years. "I got a professional degree with honors and congratulations from the jury," adds the young musician modestly. He goes on to a two-year Master's degree and works with Laurent Lefèvre, bassoon soloist of the Opéra de Paris orchestra since 1991 and professor of German bassoon, "considered as the best bassoonist of his generation". Théo Sarazin will succeed him.

Rich experiences

His musical and technical qualities have already led him to play in prestigious orchestras such as the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Radio-France Orchestra and the Montpellier National Orchestra where he was second bassoon since September 2017.
