Taras' recent and upcoming engagements include Sparafucile in Rigoletto, Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Zuniga in Carmen (all in Ukrainian National Opera, Kiev), and King Rene in Iolanta (Odessa Philharmonic Hall, Klaipeda State Music Theatre and Vilnius Theatre). In season 2017/2018 he will sing Sparafucile in Rigoletto for Opera Australia, 2.Bauer and 2.Wiedertaeufer in Le Prophete and covering Zaccarie for Berlin Deutsche Oper.
He made his operatic debut at the Kharkiv Opera and Ballet with Leporello in Don Giovanni. Since 2016 he is a soloist of the Kiev National Opera of Ukraine where he has since performed Simone in Gianni Schicchi, Bertrand in Iolanta, Silvestr in Maiboroda’s Yaroslav Mudriy, Jailer in Tosca, Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte, Leporello in Don Giovanni, King Rene in Iolanta, Gremin and Zaretsky in Eugene Onegin, Sobakin in The Tsar's Bride, Sparafucile in Rigoletto, and Angelotti in Tosca as a member of the Opera Studio.
His concert repertoire includes the bass parts in Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem, Missa brevis in B-flat major, Haydn's Die Schöpfung (Adam), J.M. Haydn's Requiem Solemne, Rossini's Stabat mater, and Verdi's Requiem. He has participated in 26th Credomatic Music Festival in Costa Rica and "Marina Shaguch presents" Opera Gala in Prague, Odessa and Pärnu under the baton of Peter Feranec and Hobart Earle. He has toured in the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Lithuania, Estonia and Costa Rica.
Taras Berezhansky graduated from the National Pedagogical University of Ukraine and Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine, and mastered his skills with Anatoli Kotscherga, Carlo Colombara, Marina Shaguch, Massimiliano Bullo and Lyudmila Monastyrska.
He is the prizewinner of the 4th Shalyapin International Festival Competition in Yalta, Ukraine (2004), 2011 International Competition «21st Century Art» (Ukraine, Kiev – Vorzel), and the 2011 Internet Music Competition.
