Studio de l'Opéra de Lyon was created in 2003. He is the heir to the Vocal and Dramatic Interpretation Workshop (1982-1991) directed by Eric Tappy, and the Lyric Workshop (1991-1998) directed by Claire Gibault. In 2011, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt became artistic director of the Studio.
The Studio aims to concretize and affirm the vocation of professional integration of the Opéra national de Lyon, in particular by a scenic and dramaturgical approach turned towards the public performance. Young artists take part in stage productions, which are an integral part of the lyric seasons of the Lyon National Opera. They work under the guidance of recognized chefs and directors. The Studio of the Opéra de Lyon was set up in 2003. It is the heir of theAtelier d'études vocal et dramatique (1982-1991) directed by Eric Tappy, and of the Atelier lyrique (1991-1998) led by Claire Gibault. In 2011, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt became the Studio's artistic director. The Studio's objective is to concretise and affirm the Opéra National de Lyon's vocation for professional insertion, and in particular via a scenic, dramatic approach focused on public performance; young artists thus take part in stage productions, which are an integral part of the Opéra National de Lyon's operatic season.
