Born in Turin to a Sicilian family, Stefano La Colla started his studies at the Conservatory Pietro Mascagni in Leghorn and improved under the guide of Luciana Serra and Carlo Meliciani. He also participated in a masterclass with Magda Olivero and Raina Kabaivanska.
After a great debut in 2008 as Radames in Leghorn, he continued his career with several performances in prestigious Italian theatres.
His European career started in 2011 with recitals in Leipzig, Saint Peterburg, St. Gallen, Bucarest, etc.
From 2014 he has been enrolled by the greatest Italian and international opera houses, such as La Scala Milan, Rome Opera House, Florence Theatre of the Maggio, San Carlo Naples, Verona Arena, Sferisterio Macerata, Bavarian State Opera Munich, Deutsche Opera Berlin and Berlin State Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Hamburg State Opera, Opera Frankfurt, Cologne Opera, Vienna State Opera, La Monnaie Brussels, Dutch National Opera Amsterdam, Norwegian National Opera Oslo, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona and Lyric Opera Chicago. In these renowned theatres he executed some masterpieces of the lyric repertoire, from the Verdi’s main roles (Manrico, Riccardo, Don Alvaro and Radames) to the Puccini’s heroes (Des Grieux, Pinkerton, Cavaradossi and Calaf), up to characters such as Pollione, Enzo Grimaldo, Le Cid, Chénier, Turiddu and Canio.
His future artistic commitments will include Pinkerton (Teatro La Fenice Venice), Cavaradossi (Bavarian State Opera Munich), Pollione (Opera Frankfurt), Calaf and Chènier (Munich Opera Festival), Canio (Teatro Comunale Bologna) and also Pinkerton (Hamburg State Opera), Calaf (Cologne Opera), Radames (Deutsche Opera Berlin and Zürich Opera House).
