Born in Barcelona, Sira Hernández studied music in Italy, at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin - under the guidance of maestro Remo Remoli and later Felice Quaranta - where she made her debut at the age of sixteen, later obtaining the degree Superior piano with the highest score.
On his return to Barcelona he perfected his musical studies at the Marshall Academy, receiving lessons from the great pianist Alicia de Larrocha.
In 1987 he was a finalist in the Soloists Competition organized by the Generalitat of Catalonia. Then he began his concert activity, performing in various cycles of concerts and International Festivals in the most important concert halls and auditoriums. Sira Hernández also frequently participates in interdisciplinary shows and recitals, in which different artists collaborate: dancers, actors, poets or visual artists, where music, dance, poetry and image merge and interact.
It has different CDs recorded with great critical success. The first, recorded in 1996 for the record label 'Ars Harmónica', is a recital with pieces by D. Scarlatti, JS Bach, Chopin and Albéniz. In 2000 he recorded for the same label a record dedicated entirely to J.S Bach, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of his death. In 2003 he published a CD with music by the Catalan composer Manuel Oltra for the label 'Columna Música'.
And in 2007, with the label 'La mà de guido', he edits another album entirely dedicated to I. Albéniz, with almost unknown works by the composer. With the same label he recorded in 2011 a CD with thirteen Nocturnes, from the origin of this musical form, with the composer J. Field, to our days, going through great composers like Chopin, Liszt, Debussy, Fauré, Satie and Britten, among others.
In 2014 he recorded a new CD with the four books that make up the work Música Callada by F. Mompou for the record label 'Solfa Recordings'. And with this same stamp has just recently published the XII sonates of Pare Antoni Soler, transcribed by Joaquim Nin i Castellanos.
