Silvia Mapelli graduated in singing with Silvia Bianchera and in flute in Bergamo.
She attended master classes with M ° Claudio Desderi, Raina Kabaivanska, Mary Lindsey and Paride Venturi.
In 1997 was the absolute winner of the Giuseppe Di Stefano International Competition for Cenerentola by G. Rossini: it was the beginning of a brilliant artistic career.
Silvia Mapelli played Rosina in the Barber of Seville by G. Rossini, Mimì and Musetta in La Bohème by G. Puccini, Donna Anna and Donna Elvira in the Don Giovanni by WA Mozart, Elvira in L'Italiana in Algeri by G. Rossini, Desdemona in the Otello Verdi, Amelia in the Simon Boccanegra by G. Verdi, Norina in the Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro by WA Mozart, Rita in the Donizetti Rita, Adina in L'Elisir d'Amore by G. Donizetti, Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, Nedda in R. Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci, Tosca in G. Puccini's Tosca, Violetta in G. Traviata's La Traviata, Leonora in G. Verdi's Il Trovatore, G. Donizetti's Il Campanello and others still, with critical and public success.
In the operetta she played the main roles in the Vedova Allegra and in the Princess of Czardas.
Silvia Mapelli has to his credit a vast concert activity in the great sacred repertoire that led her to perform in Italy and abroad; in particular, with Requiem Mass by G. Verdi (also performed in Tokyo with critical and public success), Requiem by W. A. Mozart, Stabat Mater by G. Rossini, GB Stabat Mater. Pergolesi, Messiah of G.F. Haendel, Petite Messe Solennelle by G. Rossini, Requiem by G. Fauré, Gloria by A. Vivaldi, Messa in G by Schubert; Masses by W. A. Mozart: Krönungsmesse, Credo Messe, Missa in C; by J. Haydn the Nelson Messe, Theresienmesse, Missa in Tempore Belli.
In 1996 she performed Schumann's Manfred with the Rai Symphony Orchestra.
Silvia Mapelli has collaborated with important theaters including the Teatro Donizetti of Bergamo, Teatro Grande of Brescia, Teatro Regio of Turin, Teatro Alla Scala of Milan.
She has made several recordings of sacred music and contemporary music for the editions: "Nuova Era", "Rugginenti", "Naxos" and "Carish".
She has performed successfully with audiences and critics on numerous tours in Italy and abroad. Since 2011 Silvia Mapelli has been a professor of singing at the Accademia della Voce del Piemonte.
