ormed by Barry Sargent and Ventura Rico in 1995, the Seville Baroque Orchestra is among the leading ensembles performing classical music according to historicist criteria.
Its performances, concerts and records have been widely acclaimed by audiences and critics alike. Directed by Pedro Gandía Martín since 2001 and interested in preserving the world’s musical heritage, the Orchestra performs in a wide range of styles and from a variety of composers, including both the greatest works of universal music and those deserving recognition for musical or musicological reasons. It can be often seen at the leading festivals and venues in Spain and different European countries such as Germany, France, Italy or Switzerland. In 2011, the Seville Baroque Orchestra was the recipient of the Spanish National Music Award.
