His stage debut came very early, in 2009, with the Special Award “V’AMO” in the “Great Romanian Artists – Magda Ianculescu” International Opera Competition at the National Opera House in Bucharest, which took him to the Burgas Opera House in Bulgaria, where he performed the role of Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème.
In 2010 Serban Vasile won the As.Li.Co. International Competition at the Como Social Theater in Italy, where from 2010 to 2012 he had the great opportunity to grow artistically, interpreting a number roles: the Sakili Man in a modern opera – Lupus in Fabula by Raffaele Sargenti; Dandini in Rossini’s La Cenerentola; Figaro in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro and the title part in Verdi’s Nabucco in the “Opera Domani” project. In November 2011 he made his debut as Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor by Gaetano Donizetti.
Serban Vasile’s collaboration with the National Opera House in Bucharest began in the 2011-2012 season, when he made his debut singing the title role in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene/Yevgeniy Onegin, then as Figaro in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, followed by Belcore in Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore, Morales in Bizet’s Carmen, Theseus in George Enescu’s Oedipe and Branzovenescu in O scrisoare pierduta (A Lost Letter) by Dan Dediu.
His international career reached the New York Metropolitan Opera House in the 2013-2014 season, in which he made a brilliant debut as Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, having the honour of singing under Maestro James Levine’s baton.
