Luis Santiago Aguilar is a flamenco guitarist from Mexico City. "El Tati," began is career at the age of 12, first as a percussionist and later as a guitarist, accompanying his parents, bailaora Mercedes Amaya and guitarist Santiago Aguilar. He participated in different concerts such as: Canastero, presented at the Teatro de la Paz, Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato and Sangre Latina, with the Compañía Nacional de Danza in April of 2001. At Festival Flamenco Internacional, New Mexico, he participated in Extremo Puro, a special presentation with artists such as Joaquín Grilo and his company, Manuel Soler, and Mercedes Ruiz, among others. In the feature film, Piel de Víbora, he worked with Marcela Fernández. He also presented Sangre Latina at the Teatro Pablo de Villavicencio as well as with the Compañía Nacional de Danza at the Estadio Teodoro Mariscal. Aguilar presented Extremo Puro at the Teatro Ángela Peralta, at the Teatro Juárez in Guanajuato and at the III Festival del Desierto in San Luis.
At Festival Flamenco Internacional, New Mexico, he participated in Fiesta Flamenco alongside artists such as María Pagés, Farruquito and Israel Galván. Other concerts have included: Damas Flamenco at the Teatro de la Danza, a presentation at the Arts Presenters 46th annual members conference in New York, and a six month season at the tablao El Flamenco in Tokyo.
Once again at Festival Flamenco Internacional, Aguilar performed alongside artists such as Manuela Carrasco, Belén Fernández and Kelian Jiménez, among others. At this same Festival in 2006, Aguilar worked with Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company. Aquilar participated in the Festival Mont de Marsan in France, the most important flamenco festival of that country. Here, he shared the stage with Gerardo Núñez and company, with the company of Mario Maya, Antonio, "El Pipa," and the Farruco family, among others. He toured the principal cities of Japan, as well as at the Centro Nacional de las Artes alongside the Compañía Nacional de Danza.
