About

Roman is a young and respected violin player, coming from a large well-known musical family. His parents discovered his talent when he was very young: Roman has played the violin since he was 5. He graduated the State College of Music in Bratislava (SK), and studied at the private University of Music Arts led by master Pavel Vernikov. Since his very childhood he has won many competitions, such as -_International Competition Pressburg_, Pagannini International Young Violinists Competition in Dolný Kubín (SK), international competition Fidelion in Vienna (Austria), international competition for jazz violinists in Budapest.

He is a member of the No Limit jazz quartet which won the Straubing competition in Germany. He participated at the international Jazz an der Donau jazz festival in Germany, which resulted in a recording too. He met many famous artists there, such as B. B. King, Roy Hargrove, George Benson and others. Roman and his quartet participated at the Getxo festival (Spain), where he performed with John Scofield and his trio. Among other international projects there are Visegrad 4 Octet in Budapest (HU) or Vienna Philharmonic Ball, where Roman performed with the great violinist, Roby Lakatoš and his ensemble. At the Italian festival Portogruaro, he performed along with Roby Lakatoš, Alexey Gudesman and Pavel Vernikov during the Concert of Four Violins.

Roman’s master concerts and jazz improvizations fascinate audiences all over the world. He performed as a classical and jazz violinist in concert halls, at world festivals, in clubs. It is really wonderful to follow on his artistic development. Currently he performs in a trio project with George Breinschmid (double bass) along with his brother, František Jánoška, a great piano player and vocalist. He is a member of Vienna Art Orchestra since 2009.
