Reinhard Manz, born in 1951 in Biel, studied art education and factory education from 1972 to 1977 at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He then taught film and video at the School of Design in Basel and was a lecturer in video design at the Academy of Art and Design of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW) at the institutes "Visual Communication" and "Visual Arts / Media Art".
Reinhard Manz is the author and producer of documentary films for the Basle video production cooperative "point de vue", among them Der Weiss Code (2013) and Lucerne the film - head or figure (2019). He also creates video adaptations of contemporary music, including works by Vinko Globokar (drama), Mauricio Kagel (two-man orchestra), Mathias Steinauer (TimeOutMachine) and Daniel Weissberg (animal resting w.n.). Together with Daniel Ott emerged 7 ½, Ojota III, docks I & II and cross-flow.
