The soprano REGINE HANGLER began her musical studies as a violinist and violist. After studying engineering, she came by chance to studying singing, which she completed with distinction at the Corinthian conservatoire and the Vienna University for Music.
She received further training from among others, Mara Zampieri, Gundula Janowitz and Dame Gwyneth Jones. She has often been recipient of scholarships, finalists of the competition Aslico in Italy, and won the second prize at the Birgit Nilsson Competition. Since 2010, she is a soprano soloist at the St Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna as well as the Jesuits church and the St. Augustin Church. Her busy concert career has taken the soprano to Austria, Germany, Italy, Albania, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Hungary and Japan. Recently, she sang the leading role in Daphne in New York under Franz Welser-Möst and in Berlin under Marek Janowski, and in 2016 Xanthe (Liebe der Danae) at the Salzburg Festival. Future engagements are taking the soprano among others to Tokyo and New York. Since the 2013/2014 season, she is an ensemble member of the Wiener Staatsoper, and sang among others Rosalinde, Chrysothemis, Gutrune, Helmwige, 1st Dame.
