Rebecca Correia is currently a freelance performing artist in New York City. She is a versatile performer looking to work in dance, theater, and film.
She is currently working with the Metropolitan Opera for the 2018-2019 season and recently performed in the Ten Minute Play Festival at the Jewel Box Theater. She also enjoys guest teaching and performing with Pacific Arts Dance Center in San Diego.
Her professional dance career began in 2007 at Boston Ballet School & Company. She had the opportunity to study under Margaret Tracy and Mikko Nissinen. She studied and performed works created by prominent choreographers such as William Forsythe, Fredrick Ashton, and George Balanchine.
Rebecca returned to San Diego to dance as a soloist with California Ballet Company 2008-2014, while simultaneously pursuing a GYROTONIC® teacher certification and a degree in Business Administration from the University of San Diego . With California Ballet, she had the opportunity to perform in many full-length ballets and new works created by choreographers from Washington Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Eugene Ballet,Smuin Ballet, State Street Ballet, Ballet Pacifica, amongst others. During her time at California Ballet, she received recognition from dance reviewers for her performance quality and technical prowess:

As a freelance artist, she performed with Hannibal Buress on multiple occasions including the 2013 Comedy Explosion, hosted by Will Ferrell. She has also had the opportunity to perform at The Hammer Museum 2014 biennial exhibition Made in L.A. alongside of John Bartel and Guan Wong with KChung TV. Recent work includes new choreography by San Diego Dance Theater’s founder Jean Isaacs for the 2015 Trolley Dances, a popular San Diego site-specific production. In 2016, she worked on the film In the Future, directed by Courtney Jines, as an actress and assistant director. The film was the winner of the Sundance Institute and Adobe Project 1324's What's Next Challenge. Rebecca also was the Bronze Medalist at the Vienna International Ballet Experience in January 2016 for both her classical and neoclassical variations.
In 2014, she co-founded BORDERLAND Dance. She served as executive producer for the dance-film projects commissioned and created under BORDERLAND. Of the projects under BORDERLAND: she is featured in and produces Take Your Place, a documentary web-series profiling innovative dance companies throughout the US; as well as currently co-producing 40 NORTH Dance Film Festival and 40 NORTH Selects.
Rebecca is continuing to develop herself by training Meisner Technique with Matthew Corozine and voice with Deric Rosenblatt as well as taking various forms of dance at STEPs, Broadway Dance Center, and Peridance.
