About
Rafa Pons is a Spanish singer-songwriter, composer and musician. He began his career in the Mil Doubts group, formed by his group of friends, but later abandoned him to devote himself to his solo career. It highlights influences from different musical fields: in his youth he was a fan of Bruce Springsteen and later discovered other artists ranging from Joaquín Sabina or Quique González to Tahúres Zurdos or rock groups such as Extremoduro; finally forming a musical style between rock and the author's song.
When he began his solo career, he launched his first two models: Tell me who you are with (2002), and Luna, Alcohol and Besos even (2003), 1 and give concerts in various rooms in Barcelona. At that time he meets Santi Noriega, who from then on will become his right hand. Rafa travels throughout Spain songwriter competitions and, after several second places in various festivals, 2 wins the first prize in the contest Viladecans (Barcelona), and the prize for the best lyrics by Julia Roberts and the public special in Elche (Alicante).
After his stage in singer-songwriting competitions he made a leap in his career and participated in 2005 with the theme Julia Roberts in the recording of the album I come to Cantautar, 3 of the Barcelona producer Les Nits de l'Art, where he coincides with artists from the size of Quique González or Pancho Varona. Subsequently, a second song titled Cantautar was recorded in which he interprets the song It will not matter pas gens by Joan Baptista Humet.4 That same year he recorded his third model, Philatelic and the DNA newspaper used his song You have me happy for a television spot. 5
After the recording of this model, different record companies became interested in his work and finally signed for Batiendo Records, with which he recorded his first album: Mal te ves (2007), whose first single is Snow in the window. In April of 2007 the tour of presentation of the disc by diverse cities of Spain begins with its band. In the month of July they record the video clip of their second sigle, Hotel and address; and finally the tour concludes on December 21 of the same year in the Apollo Hall of Barcelona.
On January 15, 2009 Rafa Pons presented his second album, Insisto (2009), with his band, at the Teatre Joventut de l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, with all locations sold, at the opening concert of the 2009 Barnasants Festival And on January 23 at the Galileo Galilei room in Madrid.
In 2011 he published his third album, entitled Persona, Animal or Cosa.
His fourth album goes out on January 20, 2015 under the title Disimula, edited by El Niño de la Hipoteca Records, and in February of the same year the presentation tour begins.
On August 19, 2015, (Sala Siranush) attends as guest of the show, by Zambayonny (Diego Perdomo) Argentine musician, musician, singer-songwriter and troubadour and they sing together "the daughter of the neighbor" theme of the new album "hotel of songs" from the Argentinian, Rafa Pons accompanies and then sings Follon Kilombo, which tells the Argentine and Spanish differences of the lunfardo of each country.
