Echos String Quartet is the winner of Premio Abbiati “Piero Farulli” 2017, the most important recognition of italian musical critics.
The Quartet was born in 2013 in Conservatorio “G. Verdi” of Turin. Thanks to the inspiration of Antonio Valentino and Claudia Ravetto, two musicians who spent their life in chamber music, the ensemble has grown up in Turin exploring string quartet repertoire.
Two of the most significant experiences of the group have been the meeting with Andras Schiff and the collaboration with M. Bruno Giuranna performing Brahms string quintet Op.111 after a one week masterclass.
They also were guests in the Quirino Principe conference about his essay “I quartetti di Beethoven” playing Beethoven Quartet Op.18 n.1.
In 2015 Echos Quartet began studying with Quartetto di Cremona in Accademia Stauffer. They also have improved themselves by Adrian Pinzaru teachings, first violin of Delian Quartet. They study also in Accademia di Musica in Fiesole with Antonello Farulli, Miguel Da Silva, Andrea Nannoni, Belcea Quartet and Cristoph Giovaninetti.
They had concerts in some of the most important Italian musical societies, including Società del Quartetto di Milano, Unione Musicale di Torino, Filarmonica Laudamo di Messina, MiTo Settembre Musica, Casa della Musica di Arezzo and others.
They have been invited to the festivals “North Norfolk Music Festival” 2019, “Quatuors à Cordes en Pays de Fayence” and “Quatuors à Bordeaux” as the only italian quartet, following masterclasses by Alain Meunier, Luc-Marie Aguera, Prazak Quartet and Simon Rowland Jones, also performing in concerts.
They had masterclasses and lessons with Lukas Hagen, Oliver Wille, Andras Schiff, Quartetto di Cremona, Ezio Bosso, and others. They have recently been nominated by Scuola di Musica di Fiesole to take part in ECMA (European Chamber Music Accademy) study sessions, held by great international Masters like Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartett), Johannes Meissl (Artis Quartett), Patrick Judt, Dirk Mommertz (Faurè Quartett)
The Quartet was chosen to partecipate in “Le Dimore del Quartetto” project with the collaboration of ADSI, that supports young quartets and allows them to play concerts in some of the most beautiful residences in Italy and Europe
In may 2019 the Quartet has won the first prize at the “Gasparo da Salò” chamber music competition and the second prize at the “Sergio Dragoni” national competition for string quartets.
