Overview

#0528 is an original Chinese musical about three young people pursuing their dreams of working in musical theatre. When a young aspiring performer rents the mysterious Room #0528 near Broadway, strange events begin and an unexpected fantastical journey unfolds.

Near Broadway there is an unusually cheap apartment, Room #0528. The room has a dark history: a fire once took place there, and strange incidents are said to have occurred ever since.

A young man who dreams of becoming a musical-theatre performer arrives in New York with very little money and can only afford to rent Room #0528. His arrival begins a mysterious and fantastical journey.

Eggy, Doris and Brandon become connected through the room and experience moments of joy, disappointment, fear and hope. Their stories reflect the struggles of ordinary people pursuing dreams, dealing with regrets and trying to hold on to what they love.

The musical combines elements of fantasy, comedy and drama, focusing on dreams, perseverance and the courage to start again.

Near Broadway, a young man arrives in New York determined to pursue his dream of becoming a musical-theatre performer. With very little money, he rents the strangely inexpensive Room #0528, despite rumours surrounding the apartment and a fire that once occurred there.

Soon, the new tenant discovers that the room is far from ordinary. Two spirits connected to the apartment remain trapped there after their untimely deaths. What begins as a strange and uneasy encounter gradually develops into a relationship built on understanding and mutual support.

As the young dreamer and the spirits confront their unfinished wishes and regrets, their separate stories become intertwined. Through their encounters, #0528 explores what it means to hold on to a dream, make peace with the past and find the strength to begin again.
