Pietro Mianiti studied viola, composition and conducting.
After an intense activity as instrumentalist as first viola of important Italian opera and symphonic orchestras, he made his debut as a conductor in 1998 in the world premiere opera Il Filo by Michele Dall'Ongaro directed by Daniele Abbado at the Rendano Theater of Cosenza.
Founder of the Italian Piano Quartet, with whom he performed at the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, at the Lygon Arts Festival in Melbourne, at the Carnegie Hall in New York, at the Kleine Musikhalle in Hamburg, at the St. Petersburg Philharmonic and at the Dixon Gallery of Memphis.
From 1999 to 2003, at the invitation of Luis Alva, he held the position of Music Director of the Peru Proliric Association, for which he directed Turandot, Tosca, Falstaff, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Aida at the Lima Opera House. Rigoletto, Puccini's Messa da Gloria, Verdi's Requiem Mass and IX Beethoven's Symphony.
In 2004 he was the artistic consultant for the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, where he conducted Carmen in the same season.
In the same year he began working with the theaters of the regional Lombardy circuit, performing at the Teatro Sociale di Como, at the Teatro Fraschini in Pavia, at the Teatro Grande in Brescia, at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo and at the Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona in L'elisir d ' amore (2004), I Capuleti ei Montecchi (2005), Madama Butterfly (2007), Turandot (2008), La traviata (2010), Un ballo in maschera (2015) She made her debut in the San Carlo Theater season in Naples in 2009 in a new creation by Amedeo Amodio; for the same theater he directed the concert of Ute Lemper the following year and, at the Greek Theater of Pompeii, Tosca.

Guest of numerous Italian symphonic seasons, he conducted the Rai National Symphony Orchestra of Turin in the opening concert of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy at the Teatro Carignano in Turin, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in numerous symphonic concerts and in the 2012 Traviata, the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, the Borusan Orchestra of Istanbul, the Virtuosi Italiani at the Arena di Verona for the first edition of the Oscar of the opera.
In 2008 he began his collaboration with the Teatro alla Scala Academy teaching Orchestral Exercises and Chamber Music as part of the specialization course for orchestra professors. With the Orchestral complex he has supported numerous tours (United Arab Emirates, Russia and Austria) and concerts with symphonic programs and operas, including Barbiere di Siviglia performed in Kaliningrad (Russia) in September 2013 in the Damiano Michieletto show, and played role of assistant director, among others, for Yuri Temirkanov and Fabio Luisi.
In 2013 he directed Mefistofele at the Teatro Regio di Parma. In October 2014 he directed The Secret Marriage at the Zurich Opera House and in January 2015 Falstaff at the Royal Opera House in Muscat (Oman) with the Teatro alla Scala Academy complexes, in the Teatro Regio di Parma production directed by Stephen Medcalf , in 2015 L'elisir d'Amore at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. In 2017 it will debut at Hong Kong A.P.A. with "Suor Angelica and Gianni Schicchi"
He currently holds the chair of viola at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan.
