Pavel Kolgatin (Russian Павел Колгатин, Pavel Kolgatin, born 1987 in Balashov, Russia) is a Russian opera singer of the tenor tenor. Since 2012 he has been a member of the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera.
After studying voice in Moscow Kolgatin won several singing competitions. He quickly received engagements under renowned conductors such as Louis Langrée, Vladimir Teodorowitsch Spiwakow, Victor Sergeyevich Popov and Nikolai Nikolayevich Nekrasov and worked as a soloist of the Academy of Choral Art at performances in Russia, Switzerland, Holland, Japan, Germany and France. He appeared at festivals such as the Moscow December Nights, the Festival de Colmar in France, the Rheingau Music Festival and the Oldenburg Promenade. In 2009 he became a member of the Young Ensemble at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. He then performed as Nemorino in L'elisir d'amore at the Salzburg State Theater, as Ferrando in Così fan tutte at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, as Tamino in the Magic Flute at the Opera di Roma and at the Moscow Bolshoi Theater.
Kolgatin has been a member of the Vienna State Opera since November 2012. Here he made his debut as Balthasar Zorn in Wagner's Meistersinger of Nuremberg and also sang the Brighella (in Ariadne on Naxos), the Don Basilio (in Le nozze di Figaro), the Count Almaviva (in the barber di Siviglia) and the goddess (in Boris Godunov ). In October 2014 he was - as Arbace - the premiere cast of Mozart's Idomeneo and in June 2015 he took over the Ferdinand in the State Opera premiere of Thomas Adès' The Tempest.
