Musicologist, pedagogue and creative Portuguese communicator born in Leira. After a short career as a baritone singer, as a soloist, choir or at the Choir of the National Theater of São Carlos in Lisbon, he dedicated himself to the direction of different music schools, and professor of the National Conservatory of Lisbon, 'Orfeo de Leiria and the SAMP School of Arts in Pousos. In particular, he develops in his native village, since 1992, education and artistic production projects for early childhood, such as Berço das Artes, Música de Fraldas, Concerts for Babies and Pinhal das Artes. He has been more interested in community art practices. Highlights are projects such as Opera na Prisão, with inmates, New Primaveras for the elderly, Il Trovatore o els Roma do Lis with Gypsy ethnic communities. He was a founding member and was part of the first Scientific Council of the Institute of Ethnomusicology at the Universidades Nova de Lisboa - FCSH, publishing as ethnomusicologist in several specialized magazines. Integranst of the Commission of Liturgy and Sacred Music of the Diocese of Leira-Fátima, and was founder and titular professor for 12 years of Schola Contorum Pastorinhos de Fátima.
