Born in Australia, dance artist Paul White has lived in Germany since 2011. Until 2017 he worked for the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, where he was the first dancer after Pina Bausch's death. His twenty-year career as a Performer and artistic collaborator includes the collaboration with numerous theatres and Directors, including the DV8 Physical Theatre Lloyd Newson, the Australian Dance Theatre (ADT) under Garry Stewart and the Venezuelan dance company Danzahoy, as well as Tanja Liedtke, Nigel Jamieson, Narelle Benjamin, Kristina Chan and Martin Del Amo. Paul White is the patron of dance, noise, Wuppertal, in Wuppertal, founded in dance-in-Film-society, and is a founding member of the Free Arts Scene Society, Wuppertal, Germany. For his Performance and choreographic work, he has received eight national and international awards (Australian dance awards, such as the Helpmann Awards, and the British Critic's Circle Award). In 2019, Paul White will stay in Limerick, Frankfurt and Chicago on behalf of various institutions for choreographic residences. In addition, further performances of the play "Cella", which he choreographed together with the long-time colleague Narelle Benjamin, will take place.
