Paul Herwig (10. April 1970 in Berlin) is a German actor.

Paul Herwig grew up in West Berlin, where he graduated from the Queen Luise Foundation in 1989. In early childhood he began to play the piano and drums. At the age of 14, he was discovered in the series The Schwarzwaldklinik for a major episode role. After graduating from high school, he received his acting training at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover. After finishing acting studies in 1994, he played the leading role in the three-part television film Die Tote von Amelung. After further Engagements in cinema and television films, he became a permanent ensemble member at the Residenztheater München from 1995 to 2001. He was shown there in leading roles in the pieces der zerbrochne Krug, Clavigo, the Black Rider and Sommernachtstraum. Subsequently, he moved to the Münchner kammerspiele under the artistic direction of Frank baumbauer. Here he worked under the direction of Thomas Ostermeier, Johan Simons, Andreas Kriegenburg, Sebastian Nübling, Roger Vontobel, Luk Perceval and many others. He played leading roles there, among others. in Don Karlos, Prince Friedrich of Homburg and little man-what now?. From 2007 to 2012, Paul Herwig lived as a freelance actor in London. He has been a member of the Ensemble of the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg since 2013.
