The Paris Philharmonic is a complex of concert, exhibition and rehearsal halls in Paris, France, located in La Villette Park. The main hall with 2,400 seats was designed by Jean Nouvel and opened in 2015. Symphonic concerts, jazz and ethnic music are held here.
The new Philharmonic Hall 1 opened on January 14, 2015, with a concert by the Paris Orchestra, conducted by Paavo Järvi, in memory of the Charlie Hebdo victims. Located in La Villette Park, the 2,400-seat hall, designed by Jean Nouvel, was delayed for two decades and cost 386 million euros. Its construction began in 2006, and the first season in 2015 aimed to attract a diverse audience with classical, jazz, and contemporary music. A 6,055-pipe organ, designed by Rieger Orgelbau, debuted on October 28, 2015.
