About
The Opera Ballet of the Deutsche Oper Berlin was founded in August 2004. It is not a "permanent ensemble", but the dancers are engaged as needed for the individual opera productions. The choreographers of the new productions can fill the dancers according to their ideas, and the dance company can do justice to any style: classical, modern or character.
In recent years, the dance company u. a. engaged for the following new productions: ELEKTRA, MARIE VICTOIRE, RIENZI, ARIADNE ON NAXOS and THE TROJANERS, in the season 2012/2013 for THE GIRL WITH THE SWEAT WOOD, PARSIFAL and THE LOVE TO THE THREE ORANGES. Furthermore, the dance company acts in repertoire performances such as a MASK BALL and THE TORTURE FUCHSLEIN.
LA GIOCONDA or EUGEN ONEGIN's big classic ballet inserts attracted international stars such as Anna Liceica, Principal Dancer at the New York City Ballet and ABT in New York, and Sébastien Thill, former Principal Dancer at the Paris Opera.
