Noordpool Orchestra is an orchestra from the north of the Netherlands specialized in light music.
A big band with strings and woodwinds. 42 professional musicians play Jazz, Rock, Hip-hop, Funk, Drum'n Bass, Kleinkunst, Chanson, Blues and genres yet to be invented. Founded in 2010 by the Groningen composer and pianist Reinout Douma, she storms the rest of the world with new orchestral music from the north of the Netherlands. She played with, among others, Ed Kowalczyk, Waylon, Bert Visscher, Brigitte Kaandorp, Douwe Bob, Janne Schra, Nynke Laverman, Elske deWall, Michael League, Eric Vloeimans, Tineke Postma, Wouter Hamel, Ellen ten Damme, Ali B, Fresku, Shirma Rouse , Hans Dagelet, Karsu, Glennis Grace, Iris Kroes, Jan Akkerman, Fay Claassen, Ruben Hein, Tangarine, Laura Jansen, Kim Hoorweg, Humphrey Campbell, Huub van der Lubbe, Babette van Veen, De Troebadoers, Pe & Rinus.
