The youngest member of the ensemble, Nicola Martelli won his position in the la Scala Orchestra in 2009. Born in Livorno in 1987, he studied at the l'Istituto Musicale P.Mascagni in Livorno. He graduated in 2005, studying under Giorgio Lopardo. Before joining La Scala he played with the Grosseto City Orchestra , the Florence Symphonietta, the Orchestra Giovanile Uto Ughi, and, in 2006 the Italian Youth Orchestra, where he was first trumpet.
