About

The New York Concerti Sinfonietta, founded by Julie Jordan, Artistic Director, offers the privilege of "Concerto Debut" performances to gifted soloists in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Church of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village. Together with Paul Hostetter, Principal Conductor, Dr. Jordan is dedicated to promoting and savoring the cultural treasure of musical arts in New York City communities.

Besides young artists and students of international and local conservatories and graduate schools, the New York Concerti Sinfonietta supports gifted musicians of all ages: instrumentalists, singers and composers.

Dr. Julie Jordan’s goal is to promote young talented musicians by offering them opportunities to perform as soloists. Founder of the New York Concerti Sinfonietta (NYCS), Dr. Jordan has allowed talented soloists to collaborate with highly respected conductors such as Paul Hostetter, principal conductor of the NYCS, as well as guest conductors such as George Stelluto, Charles Neidich and Jeffrey Grogan.

The NYCS is a 40-piece ensemble. The Sinfonietta has counted among its players many concertmasters and principals of leading orchestras. Individual members of acclaimed chamber groups such as the Claremont Trio, Attacca Quartet, Voxare Quartet, Vertavo Quartet, Ethel Quartet, Eroica Trio and the Sequitur Ensemble have played in Julie Jordan Presents ongoing series featuring the Sinfonietta or been featured as guest artists in concerts. Venues have included Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Steinway Hall, the Yamaha Piano Salon, and the Church of St. Joseph in Greenwich Village.

As artistic director of the NYCS, Dr. Jordan was able to offer as many as six concerts a year featuring gifted soloists through a series of concerts by her instituted: The “Julie Jordan Presents” concerts series in the past, and currently the “Shining Stars Series”.
It has been said of Dr. Jordan that she has “a talent for finding talent.” Her diverse discoveries demonstrate a dedication to.

Among the most outstanding soloists who have recently appeared with Julie Jordan’s New York Concerti Sinfonietta is violinist Eric Silberger who was the only violinist to simultaneously become a laureate prize winner in the prestigious International Tchaikovsky Competition in St. Petersburg and the Michael Hill International Competition in New Zealand. Other notable names are pianists Atonio Pastor, Owen Zhou, and Raymond Wong. Dr. Jordan has also invited pianists from the world class China Conservatory of Music in Beijing to perform with her orchestra, introducing to the New York audience such deep and powerful artists as 21-year-old Da-wen Li and 17-year-old Xiao-yu Guo.

Julie Jordan Presents has provided innumerable performance opportunities for the young artists to gain experience as our New York Concerti Sinfonietta continues to thrive with a following and all the soloists and orchestra musicians as well as our principal conductor and guest conductor have congratulated me on our golden win-win. I hope to continue our international outreach to bring artists and students to New York City as well as apply for bringing our concerts in rehearsal to the public and private schools of NYC and elsewhere.
My experience lies in teaching as well as performing which has inspired my joy of sharing these opportunities as everyone gains with the dream of reaching to be a superior soloist with musicians of the highest level as well as supporting through our collaborations.
