The NDR Youth Symphony Orchestra is made up of members of leading youth orchestras in Northern Germany, successful participants in the “Jugend musiziert” competition, students from the north German music academies and academics from the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchester e.V.
The Elbphilharmonie opened in January 2017 and just two months later the NDR Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Garrett Keast conquered the new concert platform for the first time.
