Shi Jin presents Melody of the Night, a concert of his own piano works – gentle, heartfelt music from the self-taught composer whose Melody of the Night No. 5 became a classic of Chinese radio and television.
Shi Jin was working as a network engineer when he taught himself the piano from 2002. Director Feng Xiaogang chose his Melody of the Night No. 5 for the film If You Are the One 2.
The evening is a journey through his intimate, unhurried pieces about solitude, memory, love and the four seasons, with No. 5 near the end and a Goodnight Nocturne to close – one piano, warm lighting and melodies that go straight to the heart. All pieces are by Shi Jin.
