About

The soprano Narine Yeghiyan was born in Armenia and studied at the State Conservatory of her hometown of Yerevan. In Germany she reached the semifinal at the International Vocal Competition new voices in 2009 and was awarded a special prize by the Liz Mohn Kultur - und Musikstiftung. In 2010 she participated in the competition competition dell'opera and in 2011 in Plácido Domingos Operalia. In 2013, Narine Yeghiyan was a fellow of the Richard Wagner Association and from 2011 to 2013 she was a fellow of the Liz Mohn cultural and Music Foundation as well as a member of the International Opera Studio of the Staatsoper im Schiller Theater. Here she sang Barbarina, Angelo Custode and the celestial voice (in Cavalieris "Rappresentatione di Anima et di Corpo"), Giannetta, Tebaldo and a Modist (in "Der Rosenkavalier"), in Ernst Krenek's "trust thing", in Ermanno Wolf-Ferraris "Cinderella", Woglinde in "pure Gold" (by Elfriede Jelinek) and the soprano 1 in Frank Martins "Le vin herbé", flower girl and Barbara (in Georg Philipp Telemann's "Emma and eginhard"), Zerlina, Najade (in Richard Strauss's "Ariadne auf Naxos"), Pamina and Amor (in "Orfeo ed Euridice"). In 2016 she sang Adina at the Opera Festival St. Margarethen and debuted at the Berlin Philharmonic in the title role of Tchaikovsky's "Jolanthe" and as a Marzelline. Numerous concerts regularly take you to different cities in Europe. Her debut CD "King David" under the direction of Frank Markowitsch was released by Rondeau in May 2014.
