The Kammersymphonie Leipzig was founded in 2007 by members of the MDR Symphony Orchestra and continues the years-long Tradition of the Leipzig Radio Chamber Orchestra.
With only a few exceptions, the Kammersymphonie Leipzig is performed without conductors and is conducted as "Primus inter pares" in the classical sense by the concertmaster. From this understanding of the immediate common music critics and the press ' much-acclaimed music-spring joy and the audience is always enthusiastic commitment of the chamber orchestra. In a short time, a homogenous Ensemble was created, in which the Repertoire includes not only large works for chamber orchestras such as Tchaikovsky, Dvorak, Elgar or Bartók, but also compositions of all other musical eras, from baroque to modernism (now more than 60). The core repertoire is composed of works of Viennese classical music and pre-classical music; it includes exemplary recordings of Beethoven's first symphony and his works for violin and orchestra. The open programmatic orientation and a differentiated, stylish approach to the respective works for musicians and audience alike, the appeal of the concerts. Again and again, the Kammersymphonie Leipzig cooperates with internationally renowned guests. She has played with Lise de la Salle, Antje Weithaas, Daniel Stabrawa, Carolin Widmann, Jan Bjoranger, Florian Donderer and last but not least Antoine Tamestit. With Antje Weithaas, violin concertos by Joseph Haydn were recorded for the MDR; with Michael Rische, two CDs with piano concertos by Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach for the Hänssler Classics Label were produced.
