Maximiliano Guerra (Almagro, Buenos Aires, Argentina, May 5, 1967) is an Argentine dancer and choreographer who was born in the neighborhood of Almagro, in the city of Buenos Aires.
Maximiliano Guerra studied dance since he was 10 years old. After accompanying his sister to the dance classes, he put aside his passion for football to begin his first dance studies with the master Wasil Tupin, and then at the Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón.
Since 1985 he was a member of the Stable Ballet of the Teatro Colón. He was also a professional dancer at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata and the Teresa Carreño Foundation (Venezuela). In 1988 he joined the Los Angeles Ballet Company, dancing in prestigious venues around the world. In that same year and until 1992, he went through the London Festival Ballet (in London), the German Opera in Berlin. In 1992 he obtained a position at the Teatro Alla Scala (in Milan).
He was a professional dancer in the Kirov Ballet, the Bolshoi (in Moscow), the Wielki (in Warsaw) and the San Carlo Theater (in Naples).
He acted in benefit of the Casa Cuna, the Garrahan Hospital, the Favaloro Foundation, the Don Orione cottolengo and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Buenos Aires, among others.
Contributed to several campaigns organized by the UN and campaigns for the preservation of natural resources and the environment in Argentina and the world and public good as the Argentine Cardiological Campaign, AIDS prevention campaigns in Argentina and Italy, and for ALPI.
He received numerous prizes among which the Grand Prix stands out in the International Ballet Festival of Trujillo (Peru), the Gold Medal in the International Competition of Varna, Bulgaria, the Konex Platinum Award (he had previously won the Konex Diploma of Merit in 1989) as the most outstanding dancer of the last decade in Argentina, shared with Julio Bocca.
In 1997 he starred in the film * Desperate Song. In 2012 he assumed as director, choreographer and first dancer of the dance company Ballet del Mercosur, located in Buenos Aires, performing works throughout Argentina, such as "Carmen" and "Ivan the Terrible", accompanied by a group of young dancers. In that same year he was also invited by the Stuttgart Ballet to specify the replacement of his production of Don Quixote, which was released by this company in 2000.
In 2014 he entered the contest "Bailando por un sueño" of Showmatch with his wife Patricia Baca Urquiza. While in 2015 he was invited, along with his wife, to the Como ring al dedo program, hosted by Nicolas Vásquez. In that same year he assumed the direction of the Stable Ballet of the Teatro Colón.
