Massimo Garon was born in Padova, Italy. He started his formal training at the Ballet Studio di Padova under the tutelage of Donatella Chibbaro. He later studied at the Hamburg Ballet Schule and received the Hapag Lloyd Stipendium from John Neumeir. He later attended and graduated from the legendary Vaganova Ballet Academy in Saint Petersburg, Russia. Massimo was honored to be trained by Boris Bregvadze. While at the academy he received the Vaganova Prix Medal under the supervision of dance legend Natalia Makarova.
In 2002, he was asked to join the Teatro alla Scala Ballet Theatre in Milano, Italy. Massimo was fortunate to immediately start dancing featured and leading roles such ballets as Nureyev’s Nutcracker (Prince) and Sleeping Beauty (Desire), and Balanchine’s Theme and Variations. In 2006, he won the internationally acclaimed Premio Positano. After this, he was asked by Carla Fracci to be a guest artist at Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and to take part in the famed Nureyev Galas that were performed all over the planet.
Massimo has received the honor of representing La Scala by dancing leading roles in ballets at Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Teatro Real in Madrid, Covent Garden in London, Astana Opera in Kazakhstan, and Theatre Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo. In 2011, he received the special privilege of dancing the leading role in the Bolshoi Theatre’s opening night.
In 2012, Massimo was promoted to soloist at Teatro alla Scala Ballet Theatre while dancing the leading role in Excelsior opposite of Roberto Bolle. He is currently with “La Scala” where he continues to thrill audiences.
