Born in Bergamo in 1973, he graduated in 1994 from the Musical Institute G. Donizetti of the same city in Organ and Organ Composition with honors under the guidance of M.º Giovanni Walter Zaramella and later in Piano with M. º Roberto Frattini.
In 1990 Massimiliano Difino was the winner - as "best student" of the Conservatory of Bergamo - of the competition organized by the Humanitarian Society of Milan.
He carries out his rich activity as a concert performer, sometimes accompanying instrumental and vocal groups also as director. In the Lombard capital Massimiliano Difino held numerous concerts on prestigious organs, performing, among other things, the complete works of C. Franck for organ on the centenary of his death. He has participated in various master classes and masterclasses held by M.º Giancarlo Parodi. Over the years he has dedicated himself with particular attention to the study of Italian nineteenth-century organ music, becoming an expert in it. Since 1982 (only 9 years old) is organist at the Church of Sant’Anna in Bergamo. He has held the position of master collaborator at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, at the Teatro Gaetano Donizetti of Bergamo and at the Lombard Opera Circuit. Alongside the organ and piano activity there is opera singing. He made his debut in prestigious productions at the Grande theaters in Brescia, Dal Verme in Milan. In spring 2007 he sang at the Teatro alla Scala in Shostakovich's opera Lady Macbeth; always in the summer of the same year in Switzerland as the main performer in the opera The Hay by J. Haydn. In the 2008 opera season he played the role of Bruno Roberton in the opera I Puritani by V. Bellini at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo and the Teatro Verdi in Sassari.
