The Austrian mezzo-soprano Martha Hirschmann began her vocal training at the J. J. Fux Conservatory in Graz. Supervised by Karlheinz Hanser and KS Marjana Lipovšek, she continued her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.

During her studies she was in the Schönbrunn Palace Theater, among others. as Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and as Prince Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus).

The singer completed master classes with Brigitte Fassbaender, Margreet Honig, Edith Wiens, Helmut Deutsch and Rudolf Piernay, and in 2009 she took part in the “Académie européenne de musique” as part of the Aix-en-Provence Festival. She has been working intensively with KS Edith Lienbacher since 2011.

In 2010/2011 Martha Hirschmann was a member of the opera studio of the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, where she worked with conductors such as Kent Nagano, Asher Fish and Bertrand de Billy and played Amaranta (La fedeltá premiata) in the Cuvilliés Theater.

From the 2011/12 -2016/17 season the mezzo-soprano was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Landestheater Linz, where she the roles Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Second Lady (Die Zauberflöte), Maddalena (Rigoletto), Dido (Dido and Aeneas), Mercédès (Carmen), Prinz Orlofsky (Die Fledermaus), Octavian (Der Rosenkavalier), Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw) and Le Pélerin (L'amour de loin), Valencienne (The Merry Widow), Hansel (Hansel and Gretel) Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice)

Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) and Meg Page (Falstaff) embodied.

Further engagements led the young singer to the Styriarte, the operklosterneuburg festival, and the Steyr music festival. At the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory she performed as Prince Orlofsky in "Die Fledermaus" and there in an operetta gala, at the Regensburg Theater she appeared as Dorabella (Così fan tutte).

Most recently, Martha Hirschmann successfully played the role of Orfeo in Gluck's "Orfeo ed Euridice" at the International Daegu Opera Festival 2016 in Korea.

Martha Hirschmann is the winner of the “Musica Juventutis” and “Gradus ad parnassum” competitions.

In 2015 she was nominated for the Austrian Music Theater Award for her performance of Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and received the Young Ensemble Award of the "Friends of Linz Music Theater".
