Mark trained at Wimbledon School of Art. He has designed extensively for theatre, opera, film and TV.

His recent work includes designing costumes for Roberto Devereux for Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe, Germany. Others include designing costumes and sets for Die Fledermaus at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and costumes for Verdi’s Macbeth for Opera Theatre Saint Louis, both directed by Lee Blakeley; the Chinese premiere of Falstaff for Shanghai Opera House, Così Fan Tutte for Salzburg Festival 2016 and The Wars of the Roses for The Rose Theatre Kingston.

His other theatre credits includes: Into The Woods (Châtelet, Paris) Moon Tiger (Theatre Royal Bath), Bedroom Farce  for Peter Hall (Rose Theatre and West End), Angels in America (Lyric Hammersmith and Citz, Glasgow), Bent (Trafalgar Studios) for Daniel Kramer, Born in the Gardens (Theatre Royal Bath), Aladdin (Old Vic), Cabaret(Chichester Festival Theatre) and for English Touring Theatre: The Changeling, Mother Courage, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Ghost, Hamlet (and West End), The Old Country (and Trafalgar Studios), King Lear (and Old Vic), Twelfth Night and Romeo and JulietImportance of Being Earnest  (all three toured to Hong Kong). Lady from the Sea, Three Musketeers, A Christmas Carol, Miss Julie, Treasure IslandWinslow Boy and The Wars of The Roses (all for Rose Theatre Kingston). As Associate Designer of Hamlet, directed by Trevor Nunn (Old Vic), he was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best Costume Design.

Opera work includes: Le Nozze Di Figaro (Salzburg Festspiele),Idomeneo & La Bohème (Glyndebourne),Leonore (Bologna Opera), Mitridate (Granada Festival), Don Giovanni  & Marriage of Figaro (Garsington). He was Associate Designer for Othello (Lyric, Chicago), Anna BolenaDon Giovanni and Susannah (English Touring Opera), Fidelio and Zoe (Glyndebourne), and Manon Lescaut, Il Tritico and Il Giasone for the Spoleto Festival.

Mark has also worked extensively for the BBC, Channel 4, independent films, pop videos and commercials as stylist and/or costume designer.

Upcoming projects include designing the costumes for Opera Theatre of St Louis’ Rigoletto in 2019 as well as productions with la Scala in Milan.
