Marika Spadafino was born in Acquaviva delle Fonti-Bari (Italy) on 1st September 1988. Actually she lives in Rome (Italy).  

Graduations at the N. Piccinni Conservatory In Bari (Italy):

  • • 2009: Opera Graduation with full marks cum laude under the guidance of Donato Tota;
  • • 2013: Lied Graduation cum laude and honorable mention under the guidance of Sara Allegretta;
  • • 2011: Flute Graduation under the guidance of Michele Bozzi.

Actually she's specializing in Opera with Donata D'Annunzio Lombardi and she also studied with Elisabeth NorbergSchulz, Paola Leolini, Antonella Cesari;

Marika Spadafino debuted in the following roles: in 2017 - Violetta in “La Traviata" by G.Verdi at the Opera D'Alger, Micaela in “Carmen" at Dionysia Opera Festival in Kierkira, Pamina in “The Zauberflöte” at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Sociale Rovigo, Teatro Argentina in Rom., Cousin in “Madama Butterfly” by G. Puccini at Terme di Caracalla of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma (2016), Mimì in “La Boheme" by G.Puccini for the Fondazione Giacomo Puccini and Teatro del Giglio of Lucca (2015), a Mädchen in "Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny" by Kurt Weill at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (2015), Kate Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" by G. Puccini at 61 ° Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, Paggio in "Rigoletto" by G. Since 2002, she has an intense activity as soloist with several lyrical- symphonic orchestras and in various chamber groups for important musical associations in Abruzzo, Lombardia , Piemonte, Puglia, in Luxembourg, in Paris, performing at the Hall of Mirrors of Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari, the Teatro del Fuoco in Foggia, the Teatro Piccinni in Bari, Teatro Curci in Barletta , Hotel Sheraton Nicolaus in Bari, the Polyvalent Hall of Schifflange (Luxembourg). From 2014 she was selected as a Rome Opera Theater Soloist for sacred and profane concerts conducted by Maestro Gabbiani, singing Arias by Faure, Mendelssohn and Britten, held at the National Theatre in Rome and in various Churches in occasion of the Jubileum 2016. On 2017 she sang with Antonio Pappano at the Castelfranco in Miscano Summer Festival and Francesco Ivan Ciampa at Tagliacozzo Festival.

She collaborates with the “Ensemble Project" for the production and the promotion of new contemporary music. She is the principal role at the firt performance of the Pièce Musilda Necrì by Maurizio Zaccaria and “The food Opera” by Luigi Morleo.

MUSIC COMPETITIONS

  • In 2018, she won the competition at the “ Accademia di canto del Teatro La Scala” of Milan. In 2017 she won the Third Prize of the first “P. Pappano Competition”.
  • In 2016 she won at the VI F. P. Tosti International Competition; she won the Scholarship “Carla Bernardini” e was selected by Daniela Dessí to participate in the Verdi Masterclass at the 17th Spiros Argiris Competition.
  • In 2015 she won the 3rd Prize and the Franco Giovine Special Prize (most interesting and promising voice) to the III Opera and Chamber Music International Competition for young musicians of the Castelli Romani Rotary Club. She won the 1st Prize in many Opera National and International Competitions: EurOrchestra "New Interpreters 2011" (1st Overall); "Sarro-Cup 2010" of Trani (1st Absolute Prize and Dr. Romanelli); "Rosa Ponselle"; "Euterpe", "City of Fasano", "Gian Franco Lupo "; she won the 2nd Opera Prize at the" Città di Barletta "," Pietro Argento ". She was finalist in the Opera International Award" Valerio Gentile "and at the Opera International Competition " Città di Alcamo “. She won the 1st Prize of Chamber Music Section to Contests "Guido da Venosa", "Rosa Ponselle".
  • 2014: She gained the ability to the Competition for soprano II in the Opéra de Paris Chorus.
