Marco Zoni is first flute at Teatro alla Scala in Milan and at the homonym Philharmonic Orchestra.
In 2011, he founded the Zephyrus Flute Orchestra. A strong passion and a great dedication to music allow him to achieve important results in prestigious contexts with his musicians. Artistic and musical director, he arranges and transcribes most of the repertoire that the orchestra performs.
Plays as soloist and with various chamber ensembles.
Marco Zoni was born in Lumezzane (Brescia) in 1969 and, from the age of 6, took his first steps in learning music and flute with his clarinetist father. He then devoted himself to the study of the flute under the guidance of the masters Bruno Cavallo and Mauro Scappini, graduating in 1987 at the Conservatory of Music of Brescia. Later perfected with the masters Glauco Cambursano, Andreas Blau, Peter Lukas Graf and, in 1987, he was admitted to the Superior Conservatory of Music in Geneva where he studied with the teacher Maxence Larrieu, gaining in 1990 “Le Premier Prix de Virtuositè de Flute avec distinction ". In 1991 Marco Zoni obtained the role of first flute of the Orchestra of the Pomeriggi Musicali of Milan where held the post until 1998, the year in which began collaborating with the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and the homonymous Filarmonica as the first flute . His activity in the orchestra allowed him to play under the direction of the major conductors such as Riccardo Muti, Riccardo Chailly, Daniel Baremboim, Zubin Metha, Valery Gergiev, George Pretre, Semyon Bychkov, Lorin Maazel, Yuri Temirkanov, Myung-Whun Chung, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Daniel Harding, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Jeffry Tate, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Gary Bertini. Marco Zoni has played as a soloist with some Italian orchestras performing in important national and foreign theaters, in duo with the piano and with the wind quintet "Modern". Along with orchestra and soloist activities, he also teaches in master classes held in some Italian Conservatories, at the Teatro alla Scala Academy and in various summer courses. Holds an annual flute course at the Brescia Advanced School.
