Marcel Veenendaal (Ede, April 13, 1982) is a Dutch singer and since 2009 leader of the band Di-rect.

Veenendaal grew up in Ede. Later, as a singer and musician, he often went to Nijmegen, Arnhem and Utrecht for jam sessions. He was also affiliated with the Wageningen musical theater Roekeloos. Veenendaal gained some fame through his participation in the television program AVRO's Sterrenjacht in 2004, where he finished second in the final. He has appeared in theater and musical productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar, the Wiz and Hair. His voice was also heard in cartoons and cartoons. Through the rock opera Tommy, which Jan Rot translated into Dutch in 2008, he came in contact with Di-rect.

In 2009, the then lead singer of Di-rect, Tim Akkerman, decided to focus on a solo career. In the BNN television program 'Wie is Di-Rect', Veenendaal was chosen by the band as a new singer after a waste race on 8 November of the same year. He lives in The Hague.

In February 2018 it was announced that Veenendaal will appear as a professional in the vocal program It Takes 2.
