Marc Weeger studied with Jürgen Rose at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart. Since 2003 he has been working as a freelance stage and costume designer. Among the directors with whom he collaborates are Andrea Breth ("Eugen Onegin" at the Salzburg Festival, "Katja Kabanova" at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Brussels, "Wozzeck" at the Staatsoper at Schiller Theater Berlin, "der gamer" at the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam), Christof Nel (three single acts by Henze at the Prinzregententheater München), Matthias Kaschig ("der Streit" by De Marivaux at the theater Stephens at the volkstheater München), Jim Lucassen ("Così Fan Tutte" at the Opéra Lorraine Nancy), Tanja Richter ("what you want" at the Neue theater Halle), Rudolf Frey ("Nabucco" at the Staatsoper Stuttgart), Jörg Behr ("Peter Grimes" by Britten at the Opera Aachen, "Cardillac" by Hindemith and "Helena" by Euripides, "Meeting Dido" by Purcell/Maderna at the theater Augsburg, "Ariadne auf Naxos" by Strauss at the Opera Freiburg) as well as Tatiana Gürbaca ("Lucia di Lammermoor", "Werther" and "Manon" by Massenet, "Die sold bride" by Smetana, "Un ballo in Maschera" at the Staatstheater Mainz, "the Flying Dutchman" at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, "Mazeppa", "die Zauberin" and "Eugen Onegin" by Tchaikovsky at the Vlaamse opera Antwerp). Together with Silke Willrett, he was repeatedly nominated as best stage and costume designer in" Die Deutsche Bühne".
