Bassoon Marc Trenel studied bassoon at the Lille conservatory before entering the Paris Conservatory (CNSM). He was awarded First Prizes for bassoon and chamber music in 1997.
He also studied with Gilbert Audin, then Sergio Azzolini in Basel Musikhochschule. Marc Trénel won awards in the greatest International Competitions : Bayreuth (1998), Toulon (1999), Buenos Aires (2000), and Munich ARD (Bareinter Prize in 2002). In 2008, for the first time ever in 57 years, Munich ARD international competition gives a First prize for bassoon… and the winner is Marc Trenel. Appointed principal bassoon with the Orchestre de Paris in 1999, he is also part of the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra in 2009. Up to 2008, Marc Trénel taught at the Paris National Conservatory (CNSMDP).He has been recording with Indésens Records since 2007. His French music for bassoon and (INDE011) is acknowledged by critics unanimously.
