Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Mara Driscoll trained at the Boulder Ballet and the North Carolina School of the Arts and attended programs at Juilliard and American Ballet Theater.
Her professional dance engagements include The Metropolitan Opera Ballet, FJK Dance, Dardo Galletto Dance, Terra Firma Dance Theatre, Armitage Gone! Dance and the Richmond Ballet. Mara holds a B.A. from the NYU Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where she studied intersections between art, religion and society. She also completed coursework in postmodern choreography and performance art, was a part of the Lyrics on Lockdown group that brought arts classes to Rikers Correctional Facility, and helped put a large scale projection installation on the front of the Museum of Arts and Design in Columbus Circle. Mara has taught ballet to students of all ages and is a certified teacher of the GYROTONIC® expansion system. Prior to her partnership with Rebecca Walden, Mara presented her own choreography at the Gallatin School and collaborated with the eclectic Warp Trio.
