Manuel Blancafort de Roselló (La Garriga, August 12, 1897 - Barcelona, January 8, 1987) is one of the most important Catalan composers of the twentieth century. He leaves a musical work, both for piano or chamber ensemble and symphonic, internationally recognized.
Blancafort studied in Barcelona with Joan Lamote de Grignon1. Under the influence of Federico Mompou, during a trip to Paris, he discovered French music and Igor Stravinsky, the group of six, Impressionism2.
It is revealed to the French public by Ricardo Viñes who gives his El Parque de las atracciones and in 1935, the SMI programs the Sonata antigua
